Do I need a referral?
Most insurers ask for a GP or physiotherapist referral before they will authorise an appointment. If you are paying for yourself you are welcome to contact the practice directly, although a referral letter is always helpful.

Please contact your insurer before your appointment and obtain an authorisation number, and bring your policy details with you. My practice is supported by an experienced medical secretary who helps coordinate appointments, investigations and correspondence, ensuring your care runs as smoothly as possible.
Fixed-price consultation and treatment packages are available. Clear costs will be provided before anything is booked, so there are no surprises.
Allow around 30 minutes. Bring any previous scans or reports, a list of your medication, and wear something that makes it easy to examine your shoulder and arm. Please feel free to bring someone with you.
Not every problem needs a scan. Where imaging or nerve conduction studies would genuinely change the plan, they can usually be arranged quickly on the same site.
We will discuss what the operation involves, the recovery timeline, the risks and the realistic outcome. You will have time to think it over, and nothing is booked until you are ready.
Rehabilitation is a large part of a good result. You will be given a clear plan, and follow-up appointments are arranged so that progress can be checked at sensible intervals.
Answers to common questions from patients — such as when to wear a sling and when you can drive — are in the Patient FAQs section of Insights & Journal.
